My story

I survived cancer 2 time, i am blessed

I am a 2-time cancer survivor. I suffered from stomach cancer Stage 3b in May 2015 and then again in August 2017 from endometrial cancer. I have come a long way since and I’m fortunate to have been blessed with good health after overcoming cancer for the second time.

Sadly, I’m not the only one in my family to have been touched by cancer.  My late mother passed away in 1996 at the age of 46 years. Cancer took her way too soon, and she is survived by her four children (me and my three brothers) and my dad.
My three brothers live in Paris, but we’re a close-knit family. My youngest brother Patrick was diagnosed with colon cancer age 28, in 2012. In 2015, my eldest brother Victor was also diagnosed with colon cancer for the 2nd time at age 47. Thankfully, my brother Tony has managed to get to the ripe old age of 43 without encountering cancer. He is in good health.

After a few tests, we found out that we had Lynch Syndrome (LS) – a rare hereditary condition.  People affected by LS have a higher risk of developing some types of cancer, including cancer of the:  bowel, womb (endometrial cancer), ovary, stomach, pancreas. small bowel, ureter and renal pelvis.
I have been living in the UK for the past 17 years. I am a single mother of 2 girls, age 12 and 9 years. I underwent over 20 sessions of chemotherapy, 30 sessions of radiotherapy, 8 colonoscopies, 5 colposcopies, a gastrectomy, a hysterectomy and so many more surgery.

I now live with no stomach and have to eat every 2 hours. Every three months, I must take a b12 injection – to prevent cancer – and the hysterectomy I had, robbed me of being a mother when I was 34 years old. It has come to my attention that my daughters can’t get tested for this life-threatening disease until they reach the age of 18. There is always a fear that I might not be around for my girls in the near future.

Unfortunately, the test is not free on the NHS for anyone below 18. However, just like any parent, I want my daughters to have good health. Nothing in life is guaranteed, but if they are tested sooner, then they have a better chance of a healthier future.
Sadly, my health issues prevent me from working 9-5pm, so I can’t cover the costs of the tests alone. I have created several pieces for a clothing line to help raise funds so that I can pursue the test privately. I’d really appreciate it if you could consider supporting my family.  Please donate..

I have created a pieces of clothing line to help me raise awareness and money for this purpose.
